My Saturday was spent visitng a small piece of heaven on earth: a cottage in the woods. The sun was shining, the grass was green, and nature had taken over in more than one sense. Sometimes it should just be left to do it’s magic, like on the side of the barn.

Apple tree dressed for the summer

Sunshine all day long, 20 degrees and now the rain is pouring down. This is what summer is like in Scandinavia! But the garden is full of brigt yellow dandelions so all is well.

Anemones on the forest floor

When I was out biking yesterday, I found the forest floor covered in a blanket of white anemones. When I came home Wikipedia then taught me that the word ‘anemone’ comes from the Greek word Άνεμος ‘ meaning wind. Forest, bike, wind, anemones, a Greek word and new knowledge … what a productive day I’ve had.

Sunday-muffins

It’s raining a little bit, and the sun is absent – so no working-in-the-garden on this Sunday. The dry leaves will have to wait for warmer times, so instead, I relax and enjoy the day with homemade raspberry muffins with almonds and coconut. Not a bad alternative!

Lunch for a queen

Too bad I can’t transfer taste via a picture, because today, this is what I had for lunch. My man surprised me yet again with his cooking-skills… this is his version of a Mediterranean salad. Life is good in our house.

Coffee and cake by the lake

So. To celebrate a special day, we took a walk into the forest, where we sat by the lake and had coffee and homemade carrot cake. Beautiful and good for the soul (and belly).
